Renata Ribak

My childhood, being a daughter of a hand surgeon and an otolaryngologist, was surrounded by medical professionals, photographs of surgeries and surgical instruments. My thing from an early age, has always been drawing and painting.

My father was (still is) a very active doctor in the area of research and publications of articles and books. There was a great demand for illustrations and he saw in me the possibility of illustrating figures he needed with an artistic quality. My first illustrations were made in partnership with him - even before attending University of São Paulo for visual arts years later - and together we illustrated his cases and studies. Through all the paintings, books, articles, posters, flyers, etc, my personal style was developed, both in the digital universe and in that of manual painting

 

2022 marks the 18th year of this serendipitous, father and daughter working relationship. I have illustrated more than 20 books and countless articles in various areas of medicine - from hand surgery, dental, to urology. I’ve worked with doctors from all around the world to showcase and explain their daily practices in “digestible” ways, ultimately closing the gap and building trust between health professionals and patients.
